Where to place my amp?

I would like some help finding a place to mount my amp. I have a 2003 F150 XLT Super Cab. I have found (not bought) a dual 10" sub box that fits underneath the back seat. Problem, is that there is no room for my amp (Quantum Audio QS1500D). Where would be a good place to mount it? Also, would it be best to build a custom box that will allow amp placement in the middle under the seat?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

A lot of us put our amps on the back wall of cab, behind the seat back.

If you can make a box, go for it. Almost always cheaper than a boughten box, plus you can make it however you want.

I will check it out later this afternoon when I get home from work.

Will I need to take out the back seat in order to mount the amp? If so, how do I get it out?

Thanks!

Do a search for rear seat removal & I'm sure you'll come across a couple of threads.

On the 2000 and up models Im not sure how the bottom seat cushions come off, it might be easiest just to unbolt the whole seat bottoms from the floor. Once you do that, if you look at the back wall of the cab you will see two little 'legs' or tabs, whatever you want to call them, that come down from the seat back. There is one on the left side, and one on the right side. You need to unbolt those from the wall (10mm socket IIRC) then lift upward on the whole seat back and it will come off.

I had to cut some bracing out, plus add some spacers and longer bolts so my amp would fit. It might not be neccesary depending on the size of the amp you put back there.

Heres a pic.

After looking around and measuring, I think I will mount my amp under one of the front seats. There seems to be more room for air flow under the seat. I just need to find a way to mount it there.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Mount it on the back wall. There are directions somewhere on this site about removal. Its pretty easy.
