Grounding in a single cab?
^So is he. Used the biggest wire you can (dont need to overkill though) and keep the ground wire as short as possible.
Go buy yourself like a 2 foot chunk of 4 gauge, and find a good spot to ground your amp behind/under your seat, real close to the amp.

Ground wire should be the same length as the wire from the battery to in-line fuse... no more than 18", preferrably about a foot.
Also, the ground wire needs to be at least as thick in gauge as the power wire, and wouldn't hurt if it's bigger. Example: Power wire 10? Ground 8... Power 8? Ground 4... etc.
The quicker that juice gets "out" of your components, the better for longevity. The heat will not build up as quick, etc, etc...
