four channel amps. There are claims that,
a four channel amp produces less bass than a two channel amp?
Could this be possible? I thought it would be more of a speaker issue.

Sorry, I would have to hear some really, really good reasoning behind that. Amps play across a certain frequency range. Even most mono amps will run full range. Crossovers determine what frequency the amp sends out to the speakers. I just do not see the logic in what you read.
Similar rated amps 2 vs. 4? I don't think it is a very supportive argument to be in. I think there may be some more flexibility using a 2 channel for subs, and, maybe, the 2 channel/mono amps SEEM (in general) to be more stable at lower impedances, otherwise... is a pound of lead, or a pound of feathers heavier?
I found out the real story. I simply looked up how amplifiers work.
The thing about it, and even more weird, there were replies to the thread actually supporting the claims.
I don't remember what forum it was on. I've been looking for the link. It was just your basic car audio forum. I think it was "car review" linked to the audio forum. I typed in yahoo search, "Ford truck audio," and surfed from that point.
For what it's worth, I did find out in my search, that US Amps has bought up the controlling stock of RE Audio however.
