I just bought myself a shiny brand new Alpine IVA-D310 and a PXA-H701 to go with it. My amps right now are JL 450/4 and 250/1 powering Diamond Hex up front, Diamond coaxials in the back and an IDQ 10" sub.

I am thinking about switching the JL amps and getting the new Alpine F545 and 605 amps. They are Amp Link amps and I could control everything from the D310 up in the dash.

What do you all think??

 

Man, that's a personal preference thing. If you're constantly making adjuments to your amp levels then maybe it's worth it. I wouldn't shell out the cash just to have that function, but that's me. I don't know how those amps compare to the JL, but I've always liked alpine stuff.

 

I've had both Alpine and JL amps in the past. I perferred the JL over the alpine. But the amp link is a cool feature. I say go for it, if you don't like them switch back to JL (they are a dime a dozen on Ebay).

You already have your H701? Have you set it up yet? How is it? Does it sound good? Was it hard...I heard it's a bitch. I still haven't bought mine yet. I get my tax refund back in about a week, I guess I'll get it then. Plus, I want to get this new box built and 12's ordered before I add the processor.

 

Id go with the Alpine. Every time I switch from Alpine, I get something that breaks. I have a 300/4 with 2 working channels.

The new Alpine amps are works of art.

Brypink2....I do not have the 701 yet. I went ahead and bought one from Tuan and hopefully, it will be here first part of next week.


As for the amps, after doing some research and getting some opinions, I just do not know if there are going to be enough benefits to warrant the time and effort into selling my amps and getting the Alpines. I am still kicking it around.
