Question Amp location

Hi iam new here i just recently purchased a 99 f 150 XLT off road . Well i took my amp and sub out of my old truck ( nissan) to put in the ford. i noticed that if you take out that plastic CD holder thing out of the center colsole there is plenty of room for my amp to lay flat in there. The one thing im concerned about is the amp over heating in the console. the amp already has a fan inside of it to keep it cool but i dont know if that will be enough.

The amp fan will blow into the console and then it will have no place to go. Unless the console is vented the amp will bask in its own heat.

You will probably trip the thermal protection if run hard.

It is a extended cab or regular? I had an amp in my old 97 (regular cab) right behind the drivers seat. I screwed a piece of carpeted wood into the back behind the seat, then screwed the amp to the wood. You can then made a top and sides for it so all you see is the top of the amp - no wires.

Good luck!

Thats cool. In my 04 extended cab, I stuck the amp under the rear bench right in the center. It's out of the way and is easily accessible.
