I recently saw Orion amps somewhere (I thought I bookmarked the link) for a pretty good price. I have an old Orion SX series amp that I have been more than pleased with. The ones I saw were comparable to what I have spec wise. I think Ga Foo 88 is the one that posted the original link that had the place that sold the orion's.

There's lots of good amps out there though. Everbody is gonna have an opinion on what's the best bang for the buck. All I have to say is stay away from Best Buy and the like if you want good quality at a good price. Unless you find something that's an "open Box" that they are trying to offload. I found a set of kicker 10's at a Circuit City in a box for a $100 off the original price because somebody couldn't fit em in their car. Unfotunately I couldn't fit em either.

Oh, and, btw, are you planning on upgrading the speakers too?

And to answer the "is it possible" part, yes it is. All you need is a high level to RCA converter or an amp that will take high level inputs.

There are alot of good amps out there. Just running doors you can almost use any old amp. I have used some brands I have never heard of before to run mids and highs, and never had an issue. Check ebay and you can get nice stuff cheap, but make sure the seller is a reputable person. The alpine v12 is nice. There is a new jensen series out, the pro version, they work real well and are very reasonably priced. I have the 600 watt 4 channel in my car.

That's why I asked if you were planning on changing the speaker out too. You "can" amplify them, but you wouldn't want to get carried away. You'd get a lot better sound by changing out that speakers along with putting an amp behind them.

Amping the stock speakers would sound good........for about 5 seconds, after which they would probably start on fire -with any decent amp of course. You might get away with it by using some cheapo low low power amp with the gains way down. But who wants to run something like that???

Bottom line-if you want an amp, you need new speakers.
