Fuse Size Question

I am putting Two Alpine MRD-M605 V 12's and one Alpine MRV-F345 V-12 amps in my truck I will be using 0/1 gauge power wire but my question is , .......

What size fuse should i run at the battery and how do i determene this?
And what about the stock alternator think it can keep up to this draw ?
I think its the 95 amp one

Usually run a 250-300 amp fuse 18" from your battery with 1/0 cable. DO NOT run a fuse over 350 amps.

How to determine fuse size:
(RMS)/12(volts)= amps i.e. 600/12=50

then, amps x .20 (for class D mono amps) or amps x .40 (for A/B amps) = XX amps (add this total to the total above). i.e. 50 x .40=20 then 50 + 20= 70amps

Do this for all amps and add all totals together. Make sure the amps of your fuse is more than your final total (of all amps) but less than 350 amps (for 1/0 cable).

You will probably see some dimming with your stock alternator.

The major point of the inline fuse is to make sure that if it grounds out somewhere it will blow rather than burning up the cable/car. IMHO, anything over 10 amps more than what your devices are pulling should do the trick.

I actually ran a 30A fuse on an 8 guage cable running a 30A amp and an electronic crossover. The fuse on the amp would blow if it got overloaded but not the inline 30A near the battery.

Its kinda hard to see with the glare, but I got this piece my tsunami for the top of my battery (optima) and it comes with two built in 150 watt fused lines. That way you don't have to put one inline, just connect to the fused side of the battery and whalaa. Pretty nifty

I am putting in the same exact amps in my truck. I also am using the 0/1 Gauge back to the distribution block and 4 gauge to each amp. Working with my shop, the charts and such and the specs on the amps, it was recommended that I run a 100 amp fuse off of the main, 18 inches down the line from the battery.
