Flat Cuts

What does it mean when the subs are rythmic with the bass then suddenly it seems as if it's missing a beat. They almost seems to flatline for a second then resume. I notice the voltmeter on my radar detector is dipping from 14v to 12v rhythmically as well but that shouldn't be enough to cause this, correct?

That amp must be putting a pretty good load on your electrical system, but like you said, even at 12 volts amps put out somewhat close to their rated power.

Does it just do it when you have it cranked? And what amp and subs do you have?

I'm not sure what the pattern is since I've only had the amp for roughly 2 weeks and mostly listen to it on the weekend. It was doing that while up about 1/2 way, enough to have the headlights "beat" rythmically was well LOL. I noticed it also stopped after about 15-20mins. Do subs have to be "warmed up" sorta like the engine?

BTW, Rockford Fosgate T20001BD amp with T212D4 subs (x2).

Oooooo big amp. Depending on where you live(if it gets cold) and what your subs are made of, sometimes its a good idea to run them at low volume for a while till they loosen up a little.
Everymorning I run mine at low volume for 5-10 minuties before I turn it up.

But yeah, I dont know whats up with it. Maybe the subs need broke it, amp not getting enough power etc. Someone will point you in the right direction

Yeah... I'm pretty sure that's how my amplifier ended up dieing... it was like -2 degrees out and I started my truck and went back inside... well the stereo was up and when I came back out to go to school... I had no more thump. Atleast that's what I think caused the ol' amp to go...

That's great.

But mine just had a loose remote on wire. I was in a hurry to finish that Sunday so ran the wire straight accross the cab instead of behind the panels and attached the wire to the power windows hot in. But that wire is by the pedals so whenever I either depress the clutch or brakes the amps goes out LOL. Anyways, I'll finish the install properly this weekend so that shouldn't happen anymore.
