2004 F150 SCREW Stereo question
I just went to my local car audio shop and was looking for 2 10's and an amp to put in my truck. The guy informed that the 10's would be no problem but he could not install the amp. His reason was b/c all of the computer stuff is ran thru the reciever and that when he hooked up the amp that the air bag may not work properly anymore that it may deploy going down the road or may not deploy in an accident. What I would like to know if anyone has heard of this or was he just lying and didn't want to do the job.

Never heard of such a thing for ford... GM although, did/does have such a thing. I think the radios marked "RDS" had a multiplexed input which would cause problems with the door chime, indicators and a few other things. To the best of my knowledge - removing the ford radio has no ill effects to the truck...
Can anybody else yay or nay this?

Yes you can add an amp to the factory radio on ford without a problem, other tha n the normal line level possible noise that can most of the time be taken care of ..and yes its gm that you cant just swap radio on most 2000 and up cars ,trucks 03 up , but you can add an amp even to gm.......find another shop for sure
