Cool Under Driver's Seat

I installed a Performance Teknique 800W amp under the Driver's seat. The amp is wider than the span of the adjustment bar.
My 1998 SuperCab has manual seats. The seat adjustment bar rests on the forward edge of the amp when the seat is all the way back. I just have to be careful to lift the bar all the way up when moving the seat.
The installer was able to put the screws in without removing the seat. The forward screws had to be put in at a 45 degree angle. They are very secure and this is not noticeable. The amp seems to get plenty of air. It does not seem to get too hot.
Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the kind words. It may not look like it, but I put alot of hours into it. I would not have installed any after market items if I could not get it to look as close to stock as possible. That's the main reason I am staying with my stock HU. At first I wished my truck had come with the stock sub, but now I am glad it didn't. My sound now is so more superior and unless you are looking for it, everything is out of sight to most people.

I have 2 amps now under my driver seat... I need to replace one of them though, That one has been getting hotter than hell and the other one is just fine. It is just an ole krappy amp acting up.

Oh yea it is a custom paint job on my truck to answer your question on the previous page LeanNCut

Hey guys, I just got my 2000 F150 XCab Stepside and I am installing my amp and crap and have a quick question.

I'm putting the sub behind the drivers seat, my box fits perfectly when the rar seat is up. I'm doing this so I can remove it when needed, anyways, my amp will also be on the back of the box for easy removal.

After all that, heres my question. Where is a good spot for the ground? I have seen posts where people have made a hole in their seat brackets but I'm not sure if that is a great ground source. Any suggestions? I have looked and cant really come up with a good spot and I dont want to remove the rear seat and carpet.

Heck, if the hole in the seat bracket is ok, then I'm all about it. Thanks

I found a frame support (where there are 2 layers of metal.) under my truck in the back seat area. Than in the truck in that area I cleaned the paint off in that spot and put a good size self tapping screw. Works great and a very short ground run. That way to hole does not go all the way through you floor board and no water issues.

Just finished my project this last weekend...

Although not completely finished just yet, (hiding wires and crap), I'm happy with the results so far...

Sorry this is for a SuperCrew and doesn't answer the SCab question, but seemed that everyone was posting anything here...

Looks good, I wish the 04's back seat moved forward. It would have been so much easier to install.
