Question Proper amp set-up?

Does anybody have a certain way to set up their amps? I'm talking about adjusting the frequency and gain and such. I'd just like to set everything up so it sounds the best even though I know that might be a bit subjective. System components are in my sig if that makes a difference.

Thanks in advance,
Bob

All you have to do is set the HPF (high pass filter aka crossover) at 70-80hz, then turn the gain down real low...crank up the volume to the loudest you like to listen and slowly raise the gain until you hear distortion, then back it down a bit. If you cannot hear the distortion, then set your gain between the 1/4 & 1/2 way mark.

Thanks, 2trucks. I'll give that a try and see how it goes.

Get a test tone.. say 1 kHz and burn it to CD. Put the cd in and let it play. Increase head unit volume to the highest volume you prefer... I'd keep it at or below 75% of the unit's max volume. Use oscilloscope on output of amp to check waveform. Increase gain until waveform peaks start to clip (flatten out)... slightly decrease gain until clipping is completely gone.

You have now set your gains precisely.

At least that's how I did mine.
