How underpowered are my subs?

How underpowered are my subs?
Ive got a 02 supercrew with 2 10" HX2's behind the rear seat and only an MTX 4250D mono amp powering it. The amp is rated at 125 watts x 1 at 4 ohms and 250 watts x 1 at 2 ohms, but the HX2's have a power range 150-500 watts RMS (250 watts per voice coil) and peak at a 1,000 watts. I am looking to get an MTX 8100D for the 2 but I just wanted to know how underpowered my subs are and how much of a difference the more powerful amp will make. Also, any suggestions on any other amps besides the MTX? thanks
