5.4L 3v Plug Change = Epic Fail LoL

So yesterday I began removing the plugs in my 04 f150 just as the TSB stated. First plug made that "noise" and came out rather well. Long story short, removed 3.5 more plugs (other 7 broke). Thank God for a 12pk of Miller Lite. Now its just a waiting game for the removal tool to get here. Will put pics up as soon as I clean my hands...(wife won't let me touch the camera while being dirty).. I ordered the Lisle 65600, post some comments on how this tool worked for you if it applies.

The Lisle tool works well. IMO, it works better if the plug remains are warm, the porcelain is easier to push down into the ground shield. Use a heat gun or a pen torch or something and warm the top of the porcelain up in the plug well if you can before installing the tool and going to work.

Thank you Quintin! I will make sure I warm it up before I try the extraction. Thank god I don't have to drive to work...LoL Also, it seems that a few of my plugs broke where the nut was, leaving the complete plug minus the nut intact. Is this a common? According to the tsb, I need some very long needle nose pliers to yank it out. Guess I will pay a visit to sears tomorrow minus the wife

So you're saying the nut and everything above it sheared off and the threads and everything below are still in the head? That does not sound normal at all. What usually sticks in the head is the only the electrode sleeve and maybe some porcelain with it.

I used the aerokroil to pre-soak. I let each soak for 4 hours.

I believe the nut and threads are still connected with each other because the nut continues to spin, but won't come out as it is not connected to the porcelain. I plan on getting some long needle nose pliers later and inspecting what exactly is down in there. I will try to get some pics up today.

OOps. The latest plug TSB states to use motorcraft carb tune up cleaner.

That should have worked, altho they later changed the TSB to Carb cleaner. Sorry you are having so much trouble and hope you get them out without too much difficulty. You seem to have a good attitude about it, that is refreshing.

Oooppss.. LoL..Well, if I get that and spray some down in there before I do my extraction with the Lisle tool, do you think it would help? (dumb question)

Well BlueJay, the reason for a great attitude is that I engaged in some funny business before I took this task on. The two greatest things known to man, beer and........well, can't really say, but I plead the 5th.
