Any1 experience this with leveling kit ?

I installed my AS 2" leveling kit a few weeks ago to allow for the installation of Mickey Thompson 305/55/20's.

Measuring from the center of the wheel opening to the ground, the front actually sits 1/2" higher than the rear. It was just the 2" kit. It's not really noticeable visually, but if I load the bed up with just a small load, it then becomes a bit more obvious.

No, I did not measure before I purchased. I know I didn't want to go with the full 2.5" kit, and knew the 1.5" would not provide adequate clearance for the 305/55/20's.

Anyone see this before with only a 2" kit? Suppose I now need to install an AAL ? Oy.

EDIT: The trailer I will be using this racing season is an enclosed one. My buddy who owns it installed airbags on his F150 (07 4x4 XLT). Perhaps I should just go with airbags instead, since I will ultimately need them in the end with this new trailer....

Your truck may have had a smaller rake then you thought it had. I know people have ended up nose up some like you are from buying to big of a kit. Any pictures? When did you install it? Maybe it will go down a little after drive it and it settles in more. Just an idea.

Better the front be a 1/2" lower than the rear. Thats embarrassing looking imo. If your under load, well it will go back to level when your unloaded.

Mine was 5/8" higher in the front than the rear after I put my 2" AS on. Looked bad IMO. I had to add an AAL.

On my 04 SCab, I installed an AS 2". Thought I was safe since the rake difference was 3". Turned out the front sat 1/2" higher than the back after install. I quickly installed some 2" blocks in the back.

No pics (yet) directly from the side. I installed it a few weeks ago and just put about 700miles on it during a trip to St. Louis. It should be settled.

See my "edit". I'll start looking into some airbags in the near future.

Thanks for the replies!

The spring stayed the same, there should be not settling.

Mine settled none. If you think about it there won't be any settle since the AS is steel and just stacks on top of the coilover.

I installed the 2.5 leveling kit and noticed some but not enough to make a difference, so i'm not sure why the 2 would be enough to make you want to put aal's in the back?

I'm dumb and didn't think of that at the time of posting. Thanks for pointing that out

I had the same problem with 2" AS's. I bought a set of DJM 1" lift shackles from Summit Racing and now mine is perfectly level.

My truck sits perfectly level. The gap in the front fender well is bigger than the rear gap
but it is like that on all the 4x2's that I can see. Every truck that I have looked at during
my research the front gap is a little bigger but the truck sits level. The PIC in my SIG also
has (4) 60lb sandbags in the back.

I have the 2.5" kit and mine actually sits perfectly level from front to back, which is great until you actually use the truck and the rear sags with as little 600lbs of 4-wheeler. So I installed Firestone Ride-Rite bags in the rear of mine with 15-20psi in the bags it raises the rear 3/4-1" and firms up the ride very little, but with 85psi and 3000lbs in the bed the truck was riding like it was unloaded. Plus just seeing the funny look on the guys face when loading a full pallet of patio blocks in the bed and the truck hardly sags. I would highly recommend them, you won't be sorry!!

Have you had a front end alignment performed after installation of the AS 2" leveling kit? If not the tires will be toed in and cause the front end to sit higher than it should. If you haven't, go get a front end alignment and it should drop just about 1/2".

I know this to be true as I just installed a AS 2" leveling kit on New Years Day and then went to the alignment shop the next day. Front end dropped exactly 1/2".
