Shifting Problems

2023 Ford F150 Lariat. I've been feeling shifting jumps. It's usually between 2nd & 3rd gear. It has only 8000 miles. Any ideas?

Hello! Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to see how I can assist you with this shifting concern.

Brought the truck to my dealer. They programmed the transmission. The transmission is working fine.

Picked up the truck on Tuesday. They checked the module in the transmission and again reprogrammed the transmission. We will see what happens next.

Good morning. The transmission is starting to hard shift again. Came back from a road trip this weekend. It shifts hard up and down the 10 speed range. Will contact the dealership one more time.

You've got an ongoing service complaint with this truck - keep returning it to the dealership EVERY time this happens. Eventually, you'll get a fix, even if they have to replace the transmission or the truck. You need to have the repairs done at a Ford authorized service outlet. Since this happened while the truck was still under warranty, the fix should remain free to you as long as it keeps happening. You may be able to get relief through your State's "Lemon Laws" too.

If I'm wrong in my advice to you, I'm sure someone will come along and set me straight.

Good morning all. I went to the dealership to complain about the transmission problem. They said they will take care of it. I have an appointment for tomorrow. This is the 4th time for the same problem. We will see!

Ford called this afternoon. My truck is ready. They found that my battery was below the proper voltage to ensure the transmission module is properly maintained. They charged up my battery, reprogrammed the module and road tested for over 100 miles. I have nothing draining the battery. Ford Motor Company has seen this problem with a lot of the new 10 speed transmissions. We will wait and see.

Just got back from a weekend trip Starting all over again. Will be contacting the dealer again. I've read that the Ford Mavericks and some GMC vehicles with the same 10 speed transmission are also having the same problem.

Man I hope you get this thing sorted. I have a 24 and I love the way the 10 speed drives, but it seems like the least amount of complaints have been with the 24 model years due to all the revisions and upgrades over all the years since these debuted. Lots of positive feedback in the super duty groups and f-150s for 24 MY.

Good luck and keep this updated
