It looks like the diesel numbers remain unchanged.

They got this wrong:

The maximum towing goes up from 13,200 -> 14,000 lbs (a significant 800 lbs increase). The 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 held the crown for best-in-class towing at 13,400 lbs, until this new rating for the 2021 F-150. If you are looking for this F-150, it’s an extended Super Cab truck with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, 2WD, 3.55 or 3.73 rear axle ratio, and a longer 164.1-inch wheelbase (6.5-ft bed).
That's an 8 foot bed.

I caught that when I read it, but was not sure where the error was. Does the longer bed usually tow more?

Longer wheelbase makes for a more stable tow.

That makes sense, at that weight it would be all about stability.

  • Maximum half-ton horsepower: 430 HP
  • Maximum half-ton torque: 570 Lb-ft
  • Maximum half-ton payload: 3,325 Lbs
  • Maximum half-ton towing: 14,000 Lbs
  • Maximum Hybrid half-ton towing: 12,700 lbs
I've hauled that much weight on my '77 F-150 in stone and wood pellets, but not often, it has a 351M with the 8.0:1 CR option, never towed that much before though. Wonder what a '53 32foot New Moon travel trailer weighed with the rocks as Nicky and Tracy pulled their's with a 1953 Mercury Monterey convertible (replaced with a larger but similar appearing 1953 Lincoln Capri convertible with 205 HP V8 engine) up and over the steep grades of the Sierra Nevada.
