2019 5.0 whining noise?

Hi,

Got a new less than 1000 miles 2019 5.0 motor that makes a whining noise?
The sticker inside driver door date is 1-19.
Have seen some post about the timing chain tensioner, not sure if this is it?

Thanks,
Jerry

It could be the alternator or something else.

I'd reckon taking it to your dealer. Get it nipped in the bud.

normal

I have a 2019 F150 2.7 ecoboost w/1800 miles and hear the whining sound at low speed and about 1000 rpm. According to the NHTSA this is normal on 10 speed transmissions. Here is their opinion

Some 2017-2019 F-150, 2018-2019 Expedition/Navigator/Mustang, 2019 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 10R80 transmission may exhibit a whine noise. This may occur at idle and while driving coming from the bell housing and front pan area of the transmission. The whine noise may become louder when at operating temperature and increases with higher engine RPM in the PARK position. A small amount of whine noise is considered to be characteristic of the 10R80 transmission due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability

Alternators tend to whine sometimes.
