Does adaptive cruise control activate brake lights?

I have always thought about this but now I need to find a way to test it . My truck has adaptive cruise control with collision avoidance. With cruise control set and you run up on someone in front of you my truck will slow itself down without input from me. It will slow down and maintain a Constance distance from the vehicle in front of me. I can actually set the distance I want between me and the vehicle in front of me from the selection on the instrument panel and steering wheel. Adaptive cruise when set is the best thing on my truck especially when someone passes me then slows down abruptly in front of me. Here is the big question. Do the brake lights light up when adaptive cruise control slows you down abruptly without you applying the brake? If someone is following to close behind you and this happens then there is a major safety concern in this situation. If you have adaptive cruise control does your brake lights come on when it is engaged and the adaptive cruise control slows you down without input from you?

Did you check to see if your owner's manual answers that question?

You obviously do not know what adaptive cruise control is or what capabilities it has on a 2015 model year truck. You can sit down now. Thanks for your 2 cents.

I have it in a Titanium Escape and a Lincoln, Skippy. You're question is more about your not having a clue how to drive. You can go back to your cartoons now.

I would get 2 friends together, have one follow you not closely but a couple lengths behind, and then have another cut you off purposely on the road to see if the brake lights light up.

If you have a gopro camera and 1 driver friend perhaps mount the gopro on your tailgate and see on camera.

Couple thoughtful suggestions.

That's a good idea Darren! I'm sure there are others asking/wondering the same question.

Be nice if they tried it and then posted it on YouTube.
