i have a2016 f150 with 5.0 3.31 ratio and 275 50r20 Goodyear wranglers and not happy with the tread wear. What tires are some of you running and how are they wearing? I was thinking of getting bfgoodrich kos. One of the things I wonder if my fuel mileage will suffer if I go to a different tire from what I have now. Thanks for your input

 

Goodyear Wranglers are not known for extended tire wear. At least that's been my personal experience. There are some decent tires out there but I've been sold on Michelin tire for several years. Michelin's are bit expensive but well worth the money with their 70,000 mile warranty. I put 72,000 miles on a set of All Season Michelin tires a few years ago.

Having said that, you will get just about as many opinions on tires as you will with engine oil. It's such a subjective topic.

 

The Good Year Wranglers that came on my new 2000 f150 XLT Scab 4x4 would have lasted 120k miles if the sidewalls had not cracked. I replaced two of them at 72k miles and the other two at 92k miles. I replaced them with the same tires and they started cracking too much earlier than the OE tires.
