Truck was in a minor rear collision, the rear bumper came off and a small piece of the bed on the the rear left was damaged. We replaced it the rear bumper and they did body work on the aluminum piece that got bent. No airbags deployed... But.... the airbag light is still on? Are there impact(airbag) sensors near back there or what do you fellas think could be causing the light to stay on? Also the pretensioners (seatbelts) DID NOT lock up. They still function properly. Thoughts?

 

You need to have the airbag system checked with a computer. If the light is on there should be codes.

 

Would the computer that AutoZone has let me know or you're talking about laptop version that car electricians have?

Neither the airbags nor the pre-tensioners would be expected to deploy in a rear impact collision.

For most SRS faults, the airbag light flashes a 2-digit fault code. Is this one on solid or is it flashing?

While you're at it, EXPLICITLY identify what you're working on.
