Magnaflow kit #19054 fitment on a 2016 XLT SuperCrew 5.5' bed

Hey guys, I recently purchased the Magnaflow cat-back side-exit in front of the tire exhaust kit (p/n: 19054) for my 2016 XLT SuperCrew with 5.5' bed. (145" WB) This afternoon I tried installing it. I ran in to a problem when I tried to install the hanger bracket that comes with the kit. The supplied hanger bracket would not fit in the space it needed to go and it didn't line up with the holes in the frame like it is supposed to. Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

Here is a picture showing the bracket that is welded to the exhaust kit in relation to the frame.

I called Magnaflow technical support and the tech didn't believe me at first. He told me they had sold a 1000 of these kits with no issues. He sent me a picture telling me I was trying to install the bracket in the wrong place. I then Emailed him back saying the location he was referencing was not correct as it would put the exhaust tips in interference with the rear tire by about 6" and the supplied pipe before the new muffler would not reach either at his recommended mounting location. I sent him a bunch more pictures and then I get a call saying he did not know what was going on. His data says they tried this particular kit on the same style truck as mine. He was going to have to talk to their engineers tomorrow because he was dumbfounded.

Has anyone else installed this kit on their 2016 Supercrew with 5.5' bed? Did you have any problems mounting the bracket?

I really appreciate any information you may have on this.

Thank you,
Eric

I may be looking at it wrong but the bracket should not go right in the frame should it? It should hook into some sort of rubber bushing otherwise it would rattle like crazy against the frame.

The picture is actually deceiving. The bracket welded to the pipes doesn't actually touch the frame wall. It's just hard to tell from that angle. The hanger connects with a rubber bushing to the hanger that I'm holding against the frame in the top picture.

OK makes sense. It does look like something is off. Hopefully Magnaflow will correct the problem and replace it with the correct part.

Just an update:
I had to reinstall my stock exhaust because the Magnaflow kit would not mount properly. The person I've been talking to at Magnaflow regarding my case told me that my case has been sent to the Magnaflow engineers. Today I was also told that they are going to have a truck to test fit the kit on next Friday. I am hoping this test truck is the same exact body style as mine.

Update May 11, 2016

I don't know if anyone is following this thread but I wanted to give an update on the Magnaflow exhaust saga. Magnaflow still hasn't resolved this issue for me. They were supposed to have had a test truck in last Friday to figure out why this particular kit is not fitting. However, when I called today the technical support guy said they still don't have an update on the process. He didn't have a time frame for an answer either. However, he did say that other people have reported the same issue as I am and they have pulled the product from Magnaflow's website. He said we has going to send an Email to the higher ups letting them know we are going on 20+ days of this issue being unresolved. It appears all I can do now is wait. I told the tech support guy I would call back next week. I reminded him that I have a decent amount of money tied up in this kit which is currently a useless piece of stainless steel sheet metal sitting on my garage floor!

I would think if there are others with the same issue and they cannot correct the problem they would have offered a full refund by now. Hope you get it resolved!

Well... Magnaflow gave up and told me to return the exhaust to the place I bought it from. It's been over 5 weeks since I first contacted them with the problem. I've been calling them every week and the technical support guy says he is getting no updates from his engineering team.
What a disappointment!

Sucks, but at least you are getting a refund!
