Vehicle Security System - Ford Perimeter Plus

I have a 2015 XLT with 302A package. That includes the 2-way remote start. I do have the "perimeter alarm" but as far as I know, that only includes the hood/door sensors.

I would like to add the 2-stage shock/impact module, but I do not see it listed for the 2015 at all. All of the modules I have seen seem to skip from 2014 to 2016. Can't find anything listed for the 2015.

Does anyone have this function on their 2015 F150 from the factory? Has anyone had the "Perimeter Plus" added to their vehicle? If so, what is the part number, and how difficult is the install?

Thanks in advance...

Have you spoken with your dealer's parts department? They should be able to tell you if a kit is available.

The dealer I bought it from is in another state, and I haven't established a relationship with any of the local dealers (yet).

Well, I take that back. I did call the dealer closest to my house to get my spare key cut. I bought the fob on eBay for $45. It came with an uncut blank. I have the 2 original IKTs that came with the vehicle, so programming the new remote is a cinch... I just needed the key cut. The dealer quoted me $65 - just to cut the key! I got it done at a local locksmith for $20.

THAT is why people don't want to have anything to do with the dealerships, and that is why I turn to the forums for help. I'm sure there are some good honest dealers out there, but in my opinion, there are far too few of them!

My dealer quoted me $40 for the key and cutting it. You might start with the dealer when replacing a key.

I hired my dealership to install this module after using the Ford link (shopping my local dealer), I showed the service manager that Ford thinks he should only charge less than 9 dollars labor. He was thrilled. There is a you tube video on installing this module. It looks easy.

PS... Looking now I see local installation is more like $30, but still a bargain.

Um... you might want to re-read my previous post. I had the $8 key blank already: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Flip-Rem...dU7Kht&vxp=mtr

I also had the IKT. All I wanted was for them to cut the blank it so I could install it into my IKT and program it myself.

If you have somehow found a dealer that will sell you a ~$300 IKT (long distance 2-way remote start, plus door lock/unlock and security system disable) for $40, let me know. I could sell them all day long on eBay for twice that... http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-Remo...tWhVbA&vxp=mtr

Do you know if they had to do any programming on it to make it work? I'm guessing these things aren't exactly plug & play. The dealer probably has to enable something on them... Still, $30 is a great deal.

Great info!!! Thank you! I have found these sold by dealers on the forum for @ $165-ish.

How do you like it??? Does it work as promised??? Two-stage protection... bump sensor minimal alarm, crash test full alarm???

The you tube video shows it as plug and play. I don't think they have bthe sensitivity set high enough. When I get some time I will adjust that. I didn't buy the lil flashing LED cos I didn't want to drill a hole for it. I'm happy to have an alarm. It's worth it in my opinion.

Well... you *had* an "alarm" before, but it was missing the impact sensors...

IMO, I think the impact sensors are necessary and should have been included in the first place. If someone is going to punch your locks, you want something to deter them... or even if it's some idiot opening their door onto your vehicle... you at least want a honk to let them know how stupid they are and that their carelessness didn't go unnoticed.

does your module have a sensitivity adjustment? If so, where is it? The dealer installed my module so I can't get to it. Can barely see it. I guess he was pissed when I showed him the $9 install quote from Ford Accessories lol

sensitivity is a little , say less then a 1/4 in tall and less then a 1/4 in round on one side turn all the way to the right,,,, and has to B mounted to something solid , or sensitivity is useless .I found a nice solid surface on left side under dash a square box a little larger then the unit ( and is out of site ) used 2 plastic ties that came with mine and is mounted pretty darn solid .
