Just wanted to make it go fast incase they thought they couldnt do a fair deal on an f150, not like its a lamborgini. There is more than one dealer in town.

There are only so many option packages you can choose from. Not a whole lot.

Joe,
I just do not agree that me paying ~$65K (loaded) for their truck will need to be on their terms.

The Lamborghini Atlanta dealer is very near my house. I thought that a lot of new cars were coming back on rollbacks with problems until I found out that pick-up service was included in the price. If you need an oil change, they will come get it and bring it back to your garage.

I want my new truck just as I pick it out. I can wait for it. No problem. Or I will keep the one that I have now.

Nice, wish us regular folk could get that. So far the best service I have had has been from Toyota hands down winner. Had this F150 in for minor paint warranty work (had some crap under the clearcoat) the week after buying it and it was a pain in the ***.

Anyway I would maybe contact the internet sales person at a dealer maybe? See if they can order it and maybe hold it shortly if incentives arent good at the time?

I ordered my last truck by talking to a guy at the dealership (he may have been the owner).

I just want to order a truck and agree on a price online. My bank will wire them a deposit. How hard can this be?
He's right, you cant work out a price online, and you get whatever rebate are available at time of delivery, not time of order... so this new sale or whatever is a moot point

Wish I say I could sympathize, but the idea of buying a $65,000 truck just makes my head swin

Not exactly. The sale supposedly will run through January and is not a moot point. Lots of time to get an order in if you want to. And lots of time to search the lots - unless you are getting something highly unsual, you might find it already built. And deals after January should be as good or better, probably better. We're talking trucks here that they love to discount. Worse comes to worse you could ask for the deal at below invoice or borrow an x plan pin from someone.

Crazy doesn't like anyone ordering trucks or getting good deals that are better than his. Only he is allowed to get good deals and you have to do it his way on the trucks he likes, the cheapskate or mid range bottom feeder trucks. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm a cheapskate, too. But last week he didn't even know how x plan and incentives work so take what he says with a grain of salt.

And as far as what incentives you get, up until a few years ago most dealers could not lock in any incentives prior to delivery - you had to take your chances and hope they were as good or better and if a private cash coupon expired you were SOL unless you got a new one.

Over the past few years Ford has allowed most dealers to lock in incentives at time of order so you got the choice of incentives at order time or delivery time. Have the dealer check on this option as it's been used quite frequently on the forums.

It was not one but two internet salesman that told me that I couldn't order it online with a deposit. I had to come in the dealership.

I understand that I get the rebate or whatever is available when the truck hits the lot. It was that way when I ordered my last truck (12+ years ago). That's not a problem.

The gov't still needs to go thru Ford dealers.

Its not that big of a deal. I worked 2 deals over text message.

If the salesman takes more than 10 minutes go talk to the sales manager yourself and tell him to hurry the f up and just offer them 10,500 off msrp. Or just have the salesman text back if you dont want to wait around.

Tell them you'll pick the truck up when the finance clerk is free of other clients so you can get in and out.

Joe, the OP wants to order a truck, not buy one from stock. You aren't going to do that via text message.

I'll get one sooner or later. I can wait longer to buy one.

I can work the corporate office. Most dealers around here are owned by a corporate entity. I'll call that office complaining about my lack of sales service when wanting to buy one of their vehicles.

Those internet sales guys may change their reaction after a call from corporate headquarters.

I highly doubt they will change their tune if you want to ORDER a truck.

I just cannot understand why you can't physically go to a dealer and do it. I wouldn't trust them to get the order right unless I was sitting there and confirming the exact order anyway.

Yeah I went directly with the owner of the dealership and still had to go in and sit down a few minutes. They even offered to bring another truck in but I decided to just get one off their lot, there really isnt that many variations on this truck unless you are really particular.

I know I could have got a bit better deal on a demo I found at another dealer on my own with some minor damage and almost 5000 miles but didnt want to hassle with it.

I would suggest emailing some internet sales guys with the order and offer $500-1000 over invoice then minus the rebates. See if you can use your CC to put a deposit on it and ask what time of the day is best to get through finance department quicker or set an appointment. Maybe make it a stipulation they install the Ford branded bakflip bed cover and window tint at cost if you want to sweeten the deal. If I had time I would have went this route. I ended up buying the cover seperate too.

I'll keep you informed if they will order the truck that I want.

I don't understand the problem? Are you saying that the internet salesman can not email me the summary of what I ordered? How complicated is this?

I just want to buy a truck. It should be an easy transaction for a guy that knows what he wants.
