Most profitable for Ford, not the individual dealers. Ford doesn't own the dealerships, they are all franchises by law.

X-plan compared to MSRP is easily that much.

You can use edmunds.com to find out the invoice price, then subtract 0.4% and add $275 to get the X-plan price. The only way you are going to get 8k off MSRP is with maximum eligible rebates and some trickery.

X plan saved me $6200 on my lariat. I never figured it for a platinum but I'm sure it would be close to 8. My dealer actually came under the X plan buy a few hundred, along with some other incentives.
