Used to turbo noise from some of my other vehicles, but it's almost as if the BOV/Diverter (whichever they use) sounds stuck open. It's waaaay more noise than I was expecting to hear. Anyone else notice this?

 

Are you hearing it through the firewall, open windows, or the speakers?

 

The F150 uses a diverter valve and it should be pretty quiet. You do hear more recirc noise on your than you do in other cars though. The spooling sound is pretty quiet unless you're listening for it.

 

The turbos seem relatively small, compared to something like the Garett T14s I had on my Eclipse (that with a Zen BOV was downright obnoxious in or out of the car).

 

I notice noise as well but as others mentioned it's real faint. Do you have any mods, ie: intake? Is your truck boosting good? Any loss of power? Excessive turbo noise could be an underlying issue. Maybe have the dealership check for boost leaks.

My Audi would blew a hose going to the DV once which created a boost leak, and made the turbo noise louder.
