Hey everyone, I'm moving up from my 99 F150 with 4.6 V8. This has been an incredible truck, currently at 300,000 miles with original engine and 4R70 transmission and no repairs. I believe it can go another 100k or more. I'm looking for the same reliability in the years from 2011 to 2016 with 5.0 motor. Is there a year to avoid or a year that is best?

 

Gen2 15-17 is most reliable modern engine/trans

 

Thank you Patman, seems to be the same for the Mustang as well. I will focus on these years while I shop for a truck.

 

bad luck with 2-5.0”s . 2012 years , cylinders 4 and 8 valves burned up and wrecks cylinder heads
