Whether you get the 2010 or a newer 5.0, the 6 speed transmission has an issue. You may need a new lead frame, which has all the sensors integrated. It's on backorder forever from Ford, but there are some on Amazon and Ebay, most from China and some are rebuilt. They are going in the $300-$400 range and are fairly easy to replace.
OMG YALL! I just found a listing for a 2012 F150 FX2, 201K miles for $13,500. Here's the caveat, the current owner is a retired fireman, owner by a older couple who has had it serviced at the dealer its entire life. It is super clean inside and out, and they are the only owner as they bought it new. Would this be worth considering? Even though it has 201k miles, the one owner caught my eye. They are considering selling it, the wife was talking to me because the husband does not want to let go of selling it.
I got the VIN and everything checks out, the truck has 208K miles and have been at the dealer for any of the services needed. Spark plugs were recently changed, can I expect this truck to last me longer?
i ended up picking up the truck for 11.5, I love it so much already. I love riding up high, I came from being in modified lowered cars so this is totally different. I have been driving so much this weekend and it’s running good so far. 203k miles on the dash now, it had like 202,850 when I got it
Nice find!
The high mileage won't be an issue if you realize it isn't a new truck and there will be some expense periodically for items that need replacing at that age. Still way cheaper compared to buying a new truck.
Totally agree, it is going to be like any car out there where I have to be prepared for items and maintenance. This truck became so much cheaper than the original F150 I was looking at, since it was a small dealer it would have came out to be around $17.5K after all of the fees and the 5.4 reliability.
