09 XLT: Intermittent Brake, ABS, TCS Warning Lights

A little background. ~175k on the truck. Work from home, plus the wife recently got a new car, so I don’t have to drive the truck much. Maybe once or twice a week on a local run, and couple times a month pulling a trailer to the track (100 miles round trip).

Ran a couple of errands in the truck 5 days ago, no issues.

Got back in it the next day, dash light up - red brake icon, ABS, TCS symbol, flashing “Check Brake system” warning. Brakes felt fine, so went to my 1st stop, with the dash light up. After completing the 1st stop, got back in the truck to come home, started the truck: no warning lights.

Truck sat for a day. Got back in it yesterday for another short run, same events as 2 days prior: dash lights up, truck operates fines, make a stop (kill truck), start back up, no lights.

Any thoughts on what to check first, what is failing to cause this intermittent issue?

Thanks all.

Have the battery load tested and have the alternator tested as well. Most parts shops can do this for free.

**A voltmeter is not a load test.

Went to a local shop we've used in the past.
Code: B1342 Faulty Control Module

Can those be sent to MyAirBags or Module Repair Pro to be rebuilt?

That's the ABS control unit. I'd try disconnecting it and cleaning the connectors.

Yes, it can be rebuilt.

The "also viewed" section has some other options.

Thanks glc. I would have ordered one from them right now, but the delivery is a month to a month and a half out.

Also, would seem easy enough, but what is the secret to removing the wiring harness from the module? I swung the arm/locking lever that appears to hold the warning harness to the module, from the lowered and what looked like locked position, to basically straight out or perpendicular to the module. Should the harness just pull straight away from the module? Maybe it's just stuck (13 year old truck)
Anyone know of any pics or video on removing that harness?

Looks like they all are looking at a month out.

A new one is 700 bucks.
