2011 3.5 EB Preventative Maintenance
2011 3.5 EB Preventative Maintenance
With the crazy prices of new trucks, I plan to keep mine for a few more years. I have a 2011 F150 SuperCrew 4x2 with the 3.5 ecoboost motor and 95k. I'm wondering what, if any, preventative maintenance I should do to potentially avoid major failures since I am approaching 100k miles. Is it common to change things before they show signs of failure (water pump, or coolant hoses for example)? Should I have my valves inspected for carbon buildup? Any way to check common failure points like turbos, etc...? This is my first vehicle 10+ year old vehicle.
For reference, I bought it new from the dealer in 2011 and so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any major problems. Most of the common TSB's have been done including the drive shaft clunk, and the transmission molded lead frame replacement. I have zero timing chain rattle, and everything seems to be great with the exception of a bit reduced fuel economy around town. New plugs at 60k. Coolant flushed at 75k. Trans fluid drained and filled at 60k & 90k. Sunthetic oil and filter change every 5k miles.
I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks in advance!
