Wrench light and airbag light, lost speedo and odo

Hey all, on the way home from Kids Hockey practice tonight I had "The Wrench" flash up, Lost speedo and odometer, and airbag light come on...I was driving it at the time and it down shifted and stayed in 5th gear, wouldn’t go up to sixth but still down shifted as it normally would at stops and starts. From what my research tells me this is commonly referred to as "limp home mode"? No real power loss as I had to merge onto the interstate and get to highway speeds for about one mile (no idea what speed I was going LOL) I made it the rest of the way home and into the garage shut off and started truck and the air-bag light is off, no wrench and odometer and speedometer are back. What's my next steps? Likely getting the codes read at a auto parts store? Am I safe to drive the 13 miles to work in the morning?

It's a 2013 FX4 Eco-boost that I purchased used in March 2020 with around 121,000 miles. Other side notes that I don't believe are related to this problem ...it was around 5 deg (F) while I was driving home, I'm over due for an oil change (6,000 since my last one). I have some minor electrical problems...intermittent horn and rear windows won't work...again I feel these are unrelated.

No issues on the drive to work this morning, (no wrench light, speedometer and odometer are working, . Went to Autozone at lunch to see if they can read any codes and their [cheap] code reader did not pull any codes. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the inexpensive code readers only look for engine codes, this is a different type of code). My local mechanic says he has a better code reader and I hope to stop by there in the morning for a read.

I had the codes read today by a mechanic with a better computer, said the code history read it was the Transmission output Speed Sensor. He said it could be the sensor itself, or something shorted out in the wiring between the sensor and the computer. He will check it out further next week while getting some other service done.

Updating this because I can't seem to find any information anywhere on this message board. My local mechanic read the codes and got P0720 and P0722 which is related to the to output speed shaft sensor that is located somewhere on or around the transmission. Basically when that fails the truck doesn't know how fast its moving and down shifts. My Mechanic did some research and found related items
- Safety recall 16S19
- TSB 16-008
Both seem to require the replacement of the Molded Leadframe. My local mechanic suggest I take it to the dealer for review on this since it may be recall related. So that's where it sits now getting a full "diagnostic check" for $100 as they understandably would not take my word about what was discovered at the other mechanic.

Tool and airbag light.

Lead frame replaced twice and no bueno. Ford dealership basically told me they had no idea. Never touched oss or anything else because they said it was definitely lead frame. $2k down. Found group that said clean/change throttle body, did a did seem to help or at least not a frequent! Still no solution. Ford dealership no help at all.

What is the Car/Truck involved.
If it is a 2012-14 Ford F150 that is less than 10 years/150,000 miles this is good towards your Truck
darrinp10 ...
- Safety recall 16S19.

Just happend here too

Driving and had just engaged the cruise control and did exactly like was is described above lost speedometer and down shifted into 5 and manuel was disabled.. pulled over turned of engine and restared again all issues disappeared how ever every now and again the speedometer will drop 20 miles briefly and then go back on the right speed you will feel a hesitattion or a slowing for a split second and then back to normal..
The 16s19 recall is for those that drops into 1st gear as far as I can read .
But i was thinking could this be a simple speed sensor issue ?
any way looking for any input
Ohh '13 ecoboost with 101000 miles

Have you had your battery and alternator checked out?

Exclamation

Peladho... But i was thinking could this be a simple speed sensor issue ?...
The speed sensor isn't a separate part, it is a component of, and integral to, the molded leadframe.
