F150 5.0L doesn't like cold Canadian winters
Hi guys,
My f150 has been okay thus far.
However, after it seems to get colder than -25C, it decides to not even try to turn over.
What happens is this:
1) Remote start: the lights blink like normal, then nothing, and a few seconds later, the truck honks its horn.
2) trying to start with key: When I turn the key, everything lights up like normal, but nothing. It doesn't even TRY to turn over.
Is this some stupid thing with Ford f150's where the computer detects that it's too cold out and then says "lol nope too cold go find a boost"?
Is this some sort of stupid factory behaviour from the Californian-tier engineers that I can tune out using Forscan?
need help, because I don't like having to carry a spare battery around to boost the thing every now and then. By the way, my '02 grand am GT that sits for weeks at a time has no problem starting in this weather.

Have you tried a different battery?
Also, anytime it's below -15F out, I prefer to leave the vehicle/machine running, versus cycling it on and off. Unless I'm finished with it for the day.

Another consideration ... How full do you routinely keep your fuel tank?
