Fuel Rail Leaking

Good morning,
I have a 2010 F150 XL V8 4.6L and the fuel rail has a pin hole in it and is spraying raw fuel. I have searched and searched for the part and even a video on replacing the rail and have come up empty. None of my go to online shops have the rail, so I am assuming I will have to get it directly from Ford. Is it that hard to replace it? Why am I having such a difficult time finding anything on this? I can not believe I am the only on that has has this problem. Kind of stuck cause I certainly do not want to drive it until it gets fixed........a fire would not help things.

Thanks for any help.
Rob

Go to the dealer and get a part number and then search on line. Or go to a salvage yard.

If it has a 4 speed transmission it's a 2 valve, if it has a 6 speed it's a 3 valve. If it's a 4 speed it will be PRND21 with an overdrive lockout button, the 6 speed is PRND321 with a tow/haul button. I also believe it will say 2V or 3V on the plastic doghouse over the intake.

We don't need the whole VIN, just the 8th character.

That's not a VIN, the VIN is 17 characters, beginning with a number 1, 2, or 3, then FT.

Anyway, which transmission do you have and what does it say on the doghouse?

We have to know whether you have a 4.6 2V or 4.6 3V, they use different fuel rails.

Looks like you have a 3 valve engine. Take the vin to the dealer and get a part number for the rail like I said before. If it can be purchased separately, google the part number or check with online Ford dealers who sell wholesale on line. Or go to the salvage yard for the part. Just googling the part number may find one.

CONFIRM that you have a 6 speed transmission, please. Post #6 tells you how to tell, also look at the doghouse for a 3V.

This is the fuel rail for a 3 valve:

The fuel rail for a 2 valve is discontinued.
