Fuel level acting up

I have a 2011 f15 xlt crew cab. Has 130,000 miles. Gas gauge fills up fine but once it get to half a tank it sticks. It will stay at half a tank for a while then out of no where will go to E with gas light on. The miles till E reading also changes with this. Will be doing the repair myself. Any idea what this could be? Bad fuel sending unit? Truck drives fine. Oh and occasionally it has check engine light on and says check fuel inlet device. Both of these started around the same time. Just need to know what part to buy to fix this. Thanks in advance for help!

Lightbulb

Rather than play 20 questions .....

HINT/TIP: Put your -COMPLETE- vehicle information (year, model, cab, trim, engine, wheelbase, _x4 drive, mileage, modifications, etc., etc.) in your signature -OR- provide it in your posting(s).
.

Doesn't help me with my issue but thanks for your input! Any suggestions on what to change?
