Fixing AC that wasn't broke
I bought a can of AC Pro R134A recharge for my wife's car. It came with a single gauge to check your AC system, so I decided to put it on my 2011 F150, just to check it out. The truck was cooling fine, but the gauge indicated it needed Freon. I bought another can and put it in my F150 until it was operating between the arrows on the gauge....Now my electric cooling fans under the hood come on whenever I turn on the AC. The AC also doesn't cool like it should....Did I mention it was fine before I assed with it? Anyway, I'm assuming it is now overcharged. Can I just vent it off a little, or do I need to take it to a professional. Any ideas are appreciated. There's a lesson for me here, but I really need to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks again.

A gauge set is needed to know if the pressures are correct and the ambient temps have to be considered when looking at the pressures. Sure, you can release the refrigerant just by pressing the valve core. Avoid freezing your finger or hand in the process. It's also probable illegal to release it to the atmosphere.
