A/C clicking popping when turning temp knob
A/C clicking popping when turning temp ****
Hey guys,
Ive had some new issues arise recently and i have searched the site but have come up with nothing that seems exactly like my issue. And i feel like i have been chasing a rabbit looking for this.
Here is my problem: 2011 F150, not dual climate, when i turn the temperature **** to cold i get a fast popping sound until i turn it back to hot. It has even happened on start up this morning as soon as i started the truck i heard a constant clicking popping and its right behind the area where the **** is. Is this still considered a blend door issue? I changed a blend door actuator on my old explorer which was really easy but that was happening when you would change which vents you wanted to use. This is temperature related. Anyone else having or had this same issue? I have had more issues from this truck and it only has 45k miles on it. I bought it new and love it but its one thing after another.
If i can change this piece myself i will.
Thanks

I did some more extensive research and did in fact find Youtube videos showing how to fix it. Once i knew where the piece was located i reached in and felt of it while it was clicking and sure enough its the temperature blend door actuator. When i hear "blend door" I'm thinking of the one that operates the direction of the air flow and not temperature control. So thats what threw me off on the name. I am ordering one today from Advance Auto since the one from Ford was faulty i feel better getting a different brand. I will attempt the swap next week when i have some free time. Thanks for the help Maverick!
