2010 instrument cluster cuts out

Have a 2010 fx4 instrument cluster that will cut out. Bang on the dash and it comes back on. Happens a few times while driving. Just the mileage, trip, turn signals, and warning lights turn off. Any ideas.

Now the gauges are doing it too. Not the speedo or tach though.

Do you have the original stock battery?

Had a similar issue with my '09 - not with the gauges but with the NAV screen getting funny things happening.

I get my battery load tested every 6 months with their "works" package. Last year the battery still tested OK but in the yellow zone - CCA were down to 500 on a 540 CCA battery.

Had the battery replaced and all was good. Batteries these days will do some weird stuff with our sensitive electronics after they get to be a few years old.

Notice it do it today when i hit a bump. Just the odometer display went out. If I turn the truck off when it does it. The 4 top gauges won't move unless I bang on the the glass to get it to turn on again. Wondering bad connection?

Found out the plug wasn't getting good connection. Zip tied it back to get it to work. See how long it'll last before I have to buy new cluster
