2014 F-150 Alignment Issue
I dropped my 7 month old F-150 with 18,000 miles by my local dealership this morning for a few warranty items that I needed addressed, the item of biggest concern was the front end appeared to be out of alignment and I have begun to notice wear on the outside of both front tires. The service writer quickly told me that Ford does not cover issues such as this but for 12,000 miles. The dealership checked the alignment and surprise, surprise it needs an alignment that they want me to pay for, with no consideration to the fact I have tires that are worn more than they should be. I have ALWAYS driven Fords and never hesitated to buy the next one, however after this issue and some run around I have been given on my wife's 2011 Explorer with warranty issues, when the next purchase comes around I may have to make considerations other than the color of the logo on the grill. I would like to contact someone like a regional service manager to at least explain my situation. If anyone can be of any assistance with a phone number or email address I would greatly appreciate the help.

The reason no manufacturer covers things like front end alignments under warranty is that you can literally drive a new truck (or car) off the lot and into a pot hole and mess up the alignment. I'm not saying you did that, but it does happen. (My ex drove a brand new Ranger off the lot and into the side of a Buick many years ago.) Ford may elect to grant you a free alignment in the name of good customer service, but I really doubt they'll cover the cost of new tires. And personally, I'd think that would be more than fair.
As for going to another brand because of an alignment issue, don't you think that's a bit of a stretch?

"Wheel alignments and tire balancing will be provided during the first 12 months or 12,000 miles in service, whichever occurs first."
