I recently purchased a new 2014 Lariat Screw with Nav and since last week the info is never correct. I have the latest software on the unit and it came with the latest A5 nav card but the vehicle is always showing way off of the road and as you drive longer eventually has you no where near where you actually are ( I mean miles off ). I have tied pulling the battery cable and removing and reinserting the SD card no luck.
I have master reset the unit a few times and Nav will work for about 5 minutes and then we are way off course according to the map again.
The only thing that changed around the same time as this is I took the stock wheels and tires off which were 20" and put on my after market wheels that are BFG AT tires but also 20" but the tires with ford TPMS installed are a bit bigger than the stock ones, but other than that the truck is bone stock no lifts or anything.
I just don't know if this is coincidence or will a very small change in tire size cause the nav to go that out of whack ?
My 2014 did this at first too and dealer was clueless. How long did you have the battery cable off? Try leaving it off for a good 30-60 minutes. I left mine off for a long time and haven't had an issue since.
Well this is really weird! I had larger tires put on last Friday and the nav has been screwed up since. It'll sometimes figure out where I am but it's usually several streets off.
This pic shows it well. I'm on the I-285 in Atlanta and the interstate isn't even shown on the nav screen!
I'll try leaving my battery cables off tonight and hopefully that will fix it.
I am having the same problem after getting a level and bigger tires...Really Ford??? Best thing is on a 2013 I am already out of warranty. I think electronics should more than a three year warranty...Its not like they are abused in anyway?
This is crazy. Mine is CPO so I'll take it in soon and see what the dealer says. I'll post what I find out. My outside temp reading is also about 20 degrees off today...
The same thing happened on my wifes 2013 escape, they have the same My ford Touch system as the 13 and 14 150's. Anyway, the dealer ended up changing out the APIM (accessory protocol interface module) and it's been fine ever since, and that was back in Feb of 13
Just thought I would update this thread, last night I went out and disconnected my battery cable again and this time I left it off for 30 plus minutes and hooked things back up. Today I drove allot and the Nav was back perfect and dead on. I guess maybe the 15 mins I left it off last time was not enough. But it is back working for now.
For all you guys with issues: try this- put the stock wheels and tires back on and see if that cures the problem. If so, then you can be pretty sure that wheel revolutions per mile are tied to the GPS system for whatever reason. If that the case, you can maybe buy a tuner that let's you change tire size- it ain't cheap, but it'll fix the issue(if that is the problem).
I had the same problem myself. Had the dealership recalibrate for Raptor tires which are very close to my tire size. didnt fix the problem. If the battery is disconnected for a few minutes it will erase the GPS calibration. It will relearn from there. They recommend driving at around 40mph to speed the calibration process. I drove the back way home and it is now spot on. Had the same issue, would show up a block or 40-50 yards off after driving for a little bit. Hope your problem is solved, but recalibration for tires and recalibrating gps by disconnecting gps fixed the problem for me.

no problem. the gps is tied to tire revolutions and steering position to help locate the vehicle if the gps signal is lost. Just becomes a real PITA when changing tire sizes
Recently purchased 2014 screw F150 limited. Nav said card no good today? Card says A4 on it? Why was yours A5?
Build date on truck is March 2014. Put card back in later in evening and nav worked again?
