Added illuminated visors 2014 STX

My 2014 STX came with plane jane visors. Driver side no mirror, Passenger side mirror but no illumination

I ordered two visors from my local Ford dealer
CL3Z.1504105.EC $43.18 list price
CL3Z.1504104.DC $38.87 list price

Matching L&R Grey with mirror with illumination

I was happy to find out my truck was prewired for it.

drivers side comparison

passenger side harness is inside the headliner above the visor, parallel to the windshield

drivers side is parallel to the door opening

I removed the plastic clip out of the roof to show how the harness is supposed to be routed. You'll notice a slight valley cut out in the white clip to allow the harness to pass through the side without getting pinched

You're so vain! Always wanting to look in a mirror.

Should make it easier to apply your lipstick!

Nice work, Pat. Great picture of the disembodied "hand" too.

You should have got the one with the garage door opener built in, they just need power and ground to operate. They are required to not integrate them into the can bus so they are basically plug n play. It's a pretty common swap on the mark 3 focus' the 2012 had it factory installed then it was dropped for 13 and 14 so everyone without it just buys a 2012 visor and swaps it in. On the focus model the power and ground are spliced into the same wires that power the mirror inside the visor so they use the same plug under the headliner.

For security reasons I chose not to do that. The truck stays outside all the time. I don't want to have my truck broken into and have a 2 for 1 special and have access into the house too

If I had an attached garage I would do the same thing, but mine is detached.

Nice upgrade. What did the visors cost? My drivers side doesn't even have the mirror. Is the headliner hard to take down?

Edit: Never mind about the cost. I learned how to read just now and found it in the OP. lol

Yea that's what started it. I wanted my side to have a mirror, and then the wife said her side needed a light if mine got it, so they would match.

Hahah!! Makes perfect sense, I guess. I will add this to my list of things to do. I need to find out if there is an overhead console I can install from another trim level. I need storage for prescription sunglasses.

Nope, nothing at all and I am beginning to think it didn't come with any perks lol. I wonder if that cubby can be added or if I need the whole new headliner?

I'll send you a pic of mine. It's possible Scab doesn't get that, or maybe it's because you have the middle seat instead of the console?

That could be. I would appreciate the pic. I would like to add that and the console eventually.
