Lightbulb Portable Loading Ramps

I found the loading ramps I had for my previous truck were inadequate for my FX4, which is taller, and the top of the tailgate didn't mesh well. Do you have experience and a recommendation?

Looking to buy a good general duty ramp(s) to load landscaping stuff like mowers and tillers, and the odd appliance. Nice, too, if its not unwieldy.

I use these for my Atv's and have been happy with them. Best thing i like is you can put the the chains on both sides of the ramps to something on the truck so they wont slide out from under you when going up the ramps.

I like the weight, but wonder if the gap will be too much for the small wheels on mowers. Any experience with these and those?

I have a heavy duty aluminum set I bought from the local trailer and truck shop.

When we use them on the truck we take off the truck gate. I would not trust putting the weight of mowers and atvs on the tail gate.

red why dose it scare you to put weight on tailgate? have you ever had one fail? I have in a work truck (Toyota) it sucked bad. we found out the portable cement mixer (150 LBS) was to much for the yota

Hmmm. Something I didn't consider. I think a small mower would be OK, but something larger might be iffy, for sure. Thanks.

Best ramp for me. Makes loading/unloading my cruiser and sportbikes a one man job and because it's longer the angle makes it less steep so you can take your time and not feel like you're gonna fly backwards or get stuck in the middle. I use a tie down strap from the middle of the ramp onto my hitch when in dirt or gravel just in case but I've unloaded stuff many times and the ramp has never moved on me.
