My 2012 Sterling Gray F150 has an area in which the clear coat is stating to peel. The paint under it does not appear to be damaged.

Gas anyone else had a similar problem? Any advice on haw to handle this with the dealer? (this is the only problem I have had with the truck)

 

That should be warranty all the way no questions asked, have not heard of any clear coat problems

 

I learned that the dealer must take pictures and submit them to Ford for approval. My dealer told me that he isn't even sure how he is going to get the problem to show up in a picture. This is the first time I ever had a paint problem with a Ford. GM is another story!

 

I have been fighting ford on a issue with the paint peeling on my 2012 fx4. The dealer submitted pics and ford denied it 2 times. Keep on them and keep telling them its their problem. Just make sure if you try and fight with them the truck has LESS than 12k miles or under 12 months old. My truck only had 6,600 miles and it took me 4 weeks to finally get them to accept it. Just ask for the general manger for ford in your location

 

I am considering a new 2014 STX with the Crew Cab, Maybe that would be some motivation?

No but my 05 is starting to have some paint chip spot on the hood noticed it the other day when I washed it. Kind of has me pissed off that its starting to have small paint chips in some spots on the hood.

 

I have the same problem on my 2012 Platinum. Just noticed a couple spots on hood. I'm going to bring it to the dealer but with 93000 miles not holding out much hope just want to document the problem
