Best Fuel Mileage Tire?

I gave up on cheap tires years ago and buy Michelin almost exclusively. They always run smooth and quiet for a very long time. When they get several years old the rubber hardens to the point I notice a difference in traction. I have the Michelin P tires on my truck and they have about 42k miles on them and look to be good for 20k or 30k more. I usually buy from Sam's club and take advantage of their free rotation and balancing for the life of the tire which has to help in the smooth quiet running and probably helps the front end components to last longer.

I've had good results with the M/S2 off pavement. The hunting lease is fireroad after fireroad and I didn't sink her with those tires. Now, they aren't as confidence inspiring as a hefty AT or MT, but they didn't leave me walking.
My next tire choice will be tough...love the looks of the new KO2 but the everyday performance of the M/S2 is hard to beat. I'll also be going up to a 275/65/20 so weight is a factor also. The M/S2 are considerably lighter than other tires in the same sizes, by as much a 5-8lbs per tire.

4x4 with traction lock rear in my case so no worries. The only time my truck goes off road is on the beach and the less tread the tires have the better on sand. You want to stay on top of the sand not dig in. I usually let a little air out to help stay on top.

I bought a new 2000 f150Scab4x4XLT that had the Wranglers. They were the longest wearing tires I've ever had on anything. They would have lasted about 120k miles except the sidewalls started cracking. At 72k, I replaced the first two because they cracked 360 degrees at the sidewall bulge on both sides to the point one was losing air. at about 92k miles I replaced the other two. I almost never used 4 wheel drive so I wasn't too worried about the new/old combination. So, yeah they lasted a very long time. But, I'm still puzzled by the sidewall cracking issue.
