2012 towing upgrades?

I have a 2012 ecoboost f150 that just hit 40k. It's time for tires, shocks, and front brakes.

I do quite a bit of towing, and I'm wanting to do a couple of upgrades to it. Besides upping the power a little, what would you guys suggest to help it tow a little better? I was thinking air bags in the rear and a front brake upgrade. Thoughts?

May want to begin with what it is you are towing, how far, how often and the terrain involved.

Additionally, which options are on the truck, what's ye gear ratio, what tahrs, any aftermarket items, etc, etc.

Do you care if you void ye warranty if applicable?

I changed my brakes out and it was a nice upgrade for towing a camper through the Rockies. I went with EBC Yellowstuff pads front and rear and Powerstop slotted and drilled rotors in the front. The factory pads were quite a bit smaller than the EBCs were. The friction material didn't cover the entire backing plate.

Not any insanely heavy loads, lots of 20' bass boat towing and utility trailers with polaris rangers. That kinda stuff.

Truck is a bone stock fx4, 373 gears. Warranty is gone.

Yup, I didn't drop the coin to switch the calipers or run larger discs in the back.

Johnstonblake, I deleted the two new threads you started on brakes and shocks since you were already asking about them here.

Please don't start multiple threads on a common subject, it leads to confusing responses and wastes everyone's time, including yours.

Howdy;

Sure - as long as you recognize why they were deleted, lol.

Shocks: Rancho or Bilstein ( we have a Rancho rep: https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...ho+shocks.html )

Air bags: Firestone, Ride-Rite or Air Lift ( we have an Air Lift rep: https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...48-crabey.html )

Nothing you do or add will increase yer ratings... just fyi.

BTW - you left out a couple things:

1. "Sorry, Sir Jack - fer the multiple posts - it won't happen again".
2. "Howdy folks"
3. "Any help is appreciated - thanks"
4. "Please?"

All inadvertent oversights, I'm certain; easily addressed - thankee.

Thanks for the links mgd.

But technically I didn't multi-post. In this post I asked if the upgrades I was thinking about would help me tow better. In the other posts I asked specifically what brands were best. So I won't be dropping any sirs or apologies to jack. It's just a truck forum, maybe we shouldn't treat it like its a matter of national security.

It's all good. I never expect apologies.

I deleted the other threads due to other members complaints.
