Changing the starter on a 2010 4.6

I am not a mechanic but I am looking at future maintenance on my truck. How to heck do you change the starter on this 4.6?? Looks like you would need to raise and support the right side of the engine and remove the motor mount to gain space?

Pretty sure it will last a long time. I haven't looked at this particular setup but I have not had an issue changing a pickup starter before.

This day has come for my son's 2010 4.6, he got all the terminals disconnected and bolts out. Is there really no way to get the starter out without lifting the engine out?

Read the link gDMJoe provided in the post above from 6 years ago outlining the procedure

It's doable. Yes, read what is in gDMJoe's service manual.

I've done quite a few of these. They look intimidating, but they aren't.

Last week I replaced a starter motor on a 2012 Ford Fiesta that I had to remove the transmission shift cable, clutch sensor, and of course the air filter box and filter hose. Then those blind bolts that you need a stubby wrench on one and on another you need a XL wrench. Luckily I got nice ratcheting wrenches in all lengths.

Good luck.
