Tires and aftermarket shock question

All - I have a 2010 FX4 crew with 18" XD Monsters. I want to put 315/65/18 Nitto Grappler G2's on, but I realize those are too big for the stock setup. Two Questions:

1) If I install Billstein 5100 adjustable shocks, will I be good to go?
2) I'm told intalling the Billstein will take my local go-to shop 1.5 to 2 hours of labor. Does that sound right to you guys?

Appreciate the help.

I am actually in the process of upgrading my 2012 FX4. I purchased a set of 33" Toyo Open Country MT, and will be mounting them on a set of 17" Method wheels. I am going to install the Rancho Quick lift leveling kit to give me the extra 2" in the front.

I will post pics and let you know how things progress.

Appreciate it. The Ranchos say you'll be good up to 35 so I imagine no issue for you. The Bilstein's say 35.

I have 33's on my stock '12 and have room to run tire chains yet.

Woods you have a picture of those by chance? Looks like the pics in your profile have your old tires still.

How wide and what's the offset/backspacing on the wheels? That's going to make a huge difference in deciding if they fit or not.

The wheels are Monster 18X9 with 18mm offset.

Actually looking like Nitto doesn't make the Terra Grappler G2's in size 315, only 305 or 325. The tire size conversion I'm using shows that a 325/65/18 is like a 34.6/12.8/18 in inches. Is that that extra width of .3 inches a problem, or is it immaterial?

If its 50/50 whether or not its a problem, I might just step down to the 305/65's. Thoughts?

Step down - gain some breathing room.

This, otherwise those wheels and a tire that wide will cause it to rub.

Ya I agree, better play it safe. Another stupid question, I just realized there are 2 different types of Bilstein 5100 shocks. I want the "height adjustable" ones, right? Which for some reason are cheaper.

All - I'm still trying to figure out the right Bilstein shock I need. According to www.4wheelparts.com, the Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Height shocks will not fit my truck. And according to a spokesperson there, they told me I need the more expensive ($115, so not bad) Bilstein strut, not shock. So now I'm pretty confused. This is the product I thought I needed. Can any of you tell me whether this will work on a 2010 F150 Crew FX4?

IMHO, I'd contact Bilstein directly - I woon't trust the counter monkeys at 4wparts.

So I got the Bilstein Height Adjustable shocks installed, cranked them to 2" height, and installed 33x12.5x18 Toyo Open Country RT's on there. I love it! Thanks for all the advice.

Question: What psi should I put the Toyo's at? I'm at 40 right now. I do mostly highway travel.
