It would cost me about $40 to do, be inconvenient, I'd have to source the filter and oil (which is an extra trip), have to catch and dispose of the oil, take a shower afterwards, put effort towards properly cleaning whatever shirt I had on cause I know there'd be oil on it, etc.

I win the princess award for this one I do everything else, install all my own stuff, etc. but I despise changing oil and probably won't ever do it again until I die. Unless Ford starts charging too much for it, in which case the cheap bastard part of me will take over again.

It takes me less than a half hour to remove the skid plate, change the oil, wipe everything clean afterwards and button everything back up.
It also gives me an excuse to drink beer out in the garage (my man cave).

From what I've heard and conclusions I've drawn, the dealers tell people 7500 miles when they're still under the "free oil change" service plans so they don't have to do it as often. They told my buddy 7500 for his '13. But mine has always said 5k miles.
