I win the princess award for this one I do everything else, install all my own stuff, etc. but I despise changing oil and probably won't ever do it again until I die. Unless Ford starts charging too much for it, in which case the cheap bastard part of me will take over again.
The nearest Ford dealer is a half hour away so going there would be too time consuming for me. Probably take 2 or 3 hours and I'd have to take time off from work to get there before they closed.
It takes me less than a half hour to remove the skid plate, change the oil, wipe everything clean afterwards and button everything back up.
It also gives me an excuse to drink beer out in the garage (my man cave).

Ahh I've always had a dealer less than 10 minutes away, they get it done in less than a half hour, and I can get there between or after classes. But this is also rarely done. I got it changed in December and then again in late September/early October when I finally hit 5k miles.

I need NO excuses to drink beer. Just cause is enough of an excuse for me

Im getting oil changed at dealer until all of my warranty is done (75k). That way they cant throw in my face that maintenance hasn't been performed. They can look in the computer and see 5k oil changes religiously. After 75k i may decide to do it myself, but i doubt it

That's kinda what I'm thinking too. I like the fact that they have it on record, plus having the receipts they give me.

Did they change the oil change interval from 6 months or 7500 miles? Or is that just a personal preference.

From what I've heard and conclusions I've drawn, the dealers tell people 7500 miles when they're still under the "free oil change" service plans so they don't have to do it as often. They told my buddy 7500 for his '13. But mine has always said 5k miles.

Even on your truck? That's wrong/odd if they're using the Synblend.

yup, every time i get the oil changed at the dealership it has the 3k interval. Guarantee you if i had the free oil change maintenance program it would probably be 10k intervals on the sticker.

My Ford dealer sells the Advantage Care. I buy 9 oil changes for $270. It also includes tire rotations, and a car wash. I sit and work off my laptop, eat their free cookies and drink free coffee, I can't compete with that in my unheated garage, especially since I average 6 oil changes per year at 6000-7000 per change.

I wouldn't doubt it.
