Catalytic Converter Curiosity

My 2012 5.0 litre has had three catalytic converters and one O2 sensor replaced. Are there others who have had this problem?

Thanks

What kind of mileage? Does it consume oil? Why did the cats get replaced (what was the explanation stating they needed to be replaced)?

kd460,

That was back in the spring and early summer area. Today, the truck only has 30,000 kms. on it.

As for oil consumption, it does not use any.

There is never an explanation given, even when you ask. I only had the codes. After live streaming data to Ford when the last two coded simultaneously, Ford told the dealers to change them. Those two failed right after a long drive and refueling. The truck had run flawlessly all day.

blackf-150,

I don't know what the dealer filled it with when I bought it new, but since then it has only used Shell gas from the same station. After the O2 sensor failure, it got $40.00 of Shell high test and everything else has been Shell regular. So, it should not be the gas.
