traction control system light stays on
traction control system light stays on
I just bought a 2010 ford f150 extended cab truck. Ive had it for about 3 weeks and the traction control light comes on while driving normally down the highway. Holding the button down really doesn't do anything. Sometimes it will flash the symbol on the display and lights right back up, and sometimes it does absolutely nothing. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there an easy fix? I'm not mechanically inclined, so I could really use some help. Thanks
Excerpted from the 2010 F-150 owner's manual ...
AdvanceTrac/traction control (RTT) (if equipped): Displays when the AdvanceTrac/traction control is active. If the light remains on, have the system serviced immediately, refer to the Driving chapter for more information.

sounds like you might have a wheel speed sensor that is failing. Or some other component of the ABS/ESP system (ECU, wiring, etc)
Definitely get it checked out - the ford dealer should be able to check codes and pinpoint the issue.
Did you buy it from a Dealer? Try to get them to fix it for free since you just bought it.
