A/c - tsb

Can anybody provide me with the numbers for any TSBs relating to the poor performance of the A/C in trucks like my 2012 XLT?

Thanks

gDMJoe,

Thanks for the link. It did not yield what I was hoping for, but it is good to have.

Take Care

Hey Green Gem,

Are you currently experiencing issues with your air conditioning? If so, I suggest contacting Ford Canada at 1-800-565-3673, as they're in the best position to assist.

Nick,

Thanks for your reply. Ford Canada is involved.

I'm waiting for a hotter day to get it into a third dealer. So far, between clecking coolant levels and pressures and installing dye, the dealers have done squat.

One did a very quick leak check outside in bright sunlight. I doubt if anything woud show in those conditions. On a follow-up visit, his tech again checked the coolant level and pressures. He then took it for about a two minute drive with the driver's window down and not even a thermometer in hand and said that it was fine. These techs can't fix the A/C problems because they don't look beyond the obvious. This dealership won't even respond to my e-mails.

My truck has lots of company out there. Many of us have crappy A/C and Fords needs to step up on this issue. Reading the forums tells the story. Many do work fine with what is supposed to be the same system, so there is a glitch in the ones that don't. Ford engineering needs to sort this out.

Can't say I'm impressed with my '12 Lariat SuperCrew either.

What's going on with your rig, WoodsTruck? Let me know; I'll be happy to do what I can to assist. How many miles are on it?

Last Thursday I had the truck parked and locked up. I engaged the remote start so the truck would start to cool down. Unlocked all doors so we could load up. Inserted the key and backed out of the lot and started down the road and all climate controls went dead. They showed up on the display but the fan was not working. Played with the power on/off, adjust the fan up and down, A/C on/off etc. Got frustrated and rolled all the windows down, all while rolling down the road. Maybe a mile down the road the fan and A/C came back on. Repeated this again on Saturday in the driveway but didn't travel for enough for it to work again. Sunday (yesterday) was heading down to the store but this time I did not activate the remote start but rather slid in the seat and started the truck with the key. No fan or A/C for several blocks until it finally kicked in and worked fine.

We are getting into the hot season so I'm a bit concerned that this is starting to show problems.

92,000 miles on my '12 in 34 months.

Thanks

Hi WoodsTruck,

I'd recommend making an appointment at your dealership; they'll make sure you stay nice and cool this summer. Once you've received a diagnosis, I'll be able to step in and help, if needed.
