And neither link works..........
Also, you live in MAINE. Stores price items according to socio-economic locations. I heard you can buy a house there for less than $10,000. Our parking tickets cost more than that.............LOL

Both links worked for me too. Motorcraft, Purolator, and Champion are pretty much the same filter made to the same specs. As most of you know, Purolator and Champion make the Motorcraft filters. Any of those are a good compromise at filtration and flow.
FWIW, it's been a while since we discussed the properties of oils but just so you know......the HT/HS rating of an oil is the viscosity of an oil as it's being sheared at the main bearings. Tribologists worldwide agree that for normal wear the oil should rate at 2.8. The absolute minimum HT/HS rating for an oil in any Xw-20 is greater than 2.6. Mobil One IS 2.6. Like I've said before, if you pay a premium for anything, you should get premium results. Very few "premium" oils deliver. About the only thing they do is lighten the wallet. As far as protection, yes, they protect the oil companies bottom line on the reports to investors and do a damn good job of it.
Another FWIW, application is always the critical criteria when selecting a motor oil. For a normal or low stress engine you don't need to get tricky with the oil as long as it meets Fords specs. Motorcraft oils have been a bargain for years now as there is a lot of value in the bottle. It's made with a very pure white acid washed Gp III base oil. Per conversation with one of the techs it runs about 65% Gp III and they use an add pack from Infinium that is pretty hefty. Like I say, lots of value in the bottle. There are a lot of marketed synthetics that won't compare with it in spectroscopy as the Motorcraft yields some exceptional numbers. You can certainly pay more but it's doubtful you'll buy more value than what's in a bottle of Motorcraft motor oils. It's been a bargain for years. Your wallet, your engine.

I use Valvoline MaxLife which is a synthetic blend, and Napa Gold filters which are made by WIX. Early on (first 100k), I used normal Valvoline conventional 5w-20
You can buy 5 qt jugs of this stuff at WalMart cheap
